Menswear

Tom Cruise is very proud of his wife Katie Holmes who has achived success not only in her career as an actress but also as a designer. So, he urges her to create menswear line as well.

Katie Holmes launched a women’s clothing line, Holmes & Yang, in collaboration with her friend and stylist Jeanne Yang two years ago. The line sells well and this makes Tom think that the creative duo can do something more, to expand their business.
Katie comments on Tom’s requests:
The husbands always hang out at our meetings. They say, ‘When are you guys going to do the men’s collection?’ “
Besides, the actress feels it right to design for children who like to match with their mothers. Holmes & Yang are already creating matching outfits for mothers and daughters to wear together.
The 31-year-old star says:
They [kids] love matching mom. And it’s a limited time during which they really want to.”
The main idea behind the line Holmes & Yang is making wardrobes staple-based with uniforms for everyday wear.
Katie told America’s ELLE magazine:
We want to create pieces a woman can wear over and over, and people won’t necessarily say, ‘Oh, you wore that last week.’

Top Ten List Men’s Jeans

I’ve been getting alot of questions recently about jeans. Many of you want to know what are the best brands to buy. There’s ALOT that goes into jeans- so many fits, styles, washes, brands, etc. . . It’s hard to narrow the best brands down. So I’ll do a couple of articles about jeans – this time I’ll focus on 10 top brands.
~Top Ten List NO PARTICULAR ORDER~
1. Lucky
lucky-jeans
Lucky jeans, I call these the “every girls jean” because almost every type of girls looks good in these jeans.
2. Express
express-jeansExpress jeans are so nicely tailored. And they’re the first jean types that I have friends try-on when they are changing their style from baggy to more tailored and fitted.
3. Evisu
evisu-jeans
Japanese jeans are on top these days, and Evisu is one of the top brands stealing everyone’s thunder. They’re a happy medium between extra baggy and extra fitted.
4. True Religion
true-religion1These are everyday jeans for stars, especially when they’re in movies. They’re comfortable and have an overall good fit. If you pay attention you’ll notice everyone famous rocking True Religion jeans- you can tell by the back pockets.
5.For all Mankind
These were my first real “designer” jeans. Seven jeans are so soft and top quality – you’ll also catch the rich and famous rockin’ these on a daily basis.

6. Gap
Gap jeans are also an “every guy” type of jean, probably more so than Lucky. Gap offers a plethora of sizes and style for men of all shapes and sizes.

7. Levi’s
7-levis-jeansWhen in doubt- Buy Levis. Levi’s are the classic jeans, and they ALWAYS look good. The brand develops with time so they work hard to keep the latest styles in stock.
(Levi’s skinny jeans shown above- most guys shouldn’t wear these though)
8. LRG Jeans
lrg-jeans1
LRG Jeans are actually some of my favorite! They have so many styles and colors- they offer looks that no one else does.
9. Rock & Republic
Once again, these are jeans worn by the rich and famous. I really like the wayrock-republic-jeans these jeans fit on most guys. . . they make men look trim and not that it’s important to guys, but they also make your ass look great.
10. Tommy Bahama
tommy-bahamaSome of you may be thinking, WTF! Tommy Bahama?? Yeah, thats right Tommy Bahama. This pick is specifically for the older gentleman- I would say 35 and above (hopefully that doesn’t offend anyone). Tommy Bahama offers a great variety of styles and washes that are very comfortable, they’re especially good for older gent who are unsure of what type of jean to wear

Where To Buy Men’s Clothes

Where To Buy Men's Clothes In BelltownWith all due respect to the other communities here in the Emerald City, those who live and work in and around the Belltown area are simply the most fashion forward forefathers of Seattle fashion. Sure, on the weekends the influx of bridge and tunnelers severely water down the exclusivity and pizzaz of 1st and 2nd, but on any given weekday or weeknight you’ll see a bunch of fellas and birds who genuinely like to take fashion risks and wear their freak fashion flag loud and proud. It’s a great thing that there are a few choice boutiques on the strip to tie on the tourniquet for the men’s fashion junkie. Here are some recommendations:
Kuhlman: A Seattle and Belltown institution for both men and women. The latest and greatest in denim, sunglasses, accessories, t-shirts, dresses and all the tools to receive your Mod merit badge. All this and alterations and custom tailoring to boot. Man about town Brian Madsen was recently overheard proclaiming that “Kuhlman gives me the guidance, love and stellar customer service that makes me ready to not only take on the challenges of the world, but easily overcome them; all the while looking breathtaking.” Kuhlman is where to skip to when you need to satisfy your denim, bow tie, plaid or Fred Perry pregnancy cravings. Plus they have possibly the most attractive staff in town,
The Finerie: Another beloved little jem spitting distance to the charming and reliable Pike Street Market. Get some fresh flowers for your favorite lady then sashay in for a new seersucker jacket and some new lace-ups. Delightful little storefront that is probably 65% women and 35% men’s kits with a slew of jewelry and accessories to boot. Classic and modern trends hold hands in unity and you’d be a damn dirty fool to skip getting on their mailing list as they are always doing gregarious and neat events such as guest designers giving trunk shows, manicures and booze, lots of booze. Plus the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy.
Jack Straw: Oh Jack Straw, dearest little boutique that stole my cold fashionista heart. Jack Straw is named after a Grateful Dead tune, the dressing rooms are named after some lads named the Beatles and the bathroom is inspired by The White Album and sweet li’l Bobby Dylan plays through the speakers. Heaven you ask? Nope son, just a quaint men’s boutique that’ll celebrate 1 year in the fall. Owner John Richards is kind, funny, witty and clearly has an amazing mind’s eye when it comes to fashion specializing is suits, patterned shirts and even more patterned ties and scarves. Gingham and Polka dots? Stripes upon stripes upon plaid? Richards has set up a sort of men’s fashion utopia where patterns flow like wine and fine fabrics write the laws.

Strut: Strut is the new kid on the block on First. This isn’t so much Donnie Walhberg though, more like his slutty younger sister. Going out attire for the Belltown weekend crowd (and bartenders and strippers) and much more adventurous and scandalous than the before mentioned places. And God bless them for it. Reproduction rock t-shirt line the mannequins out front and this is certainly the place to shop if you need some leopard print skin tight trousers. Mostly women’s gear with oodles of accessories and a smattering of men’s lines sprinkled throughout. It is owned and operated by a mother and daughter team who are, ahem, easy on the eyes to say the least. A much needed shot of Rock n Roll electricity and sleaze to shake things up a touch.

Mens T-Shirt

Mens Stylish Ways To Wear A T-Shirts

Mens Stylish Ways To Wear A T-Shirt:The humble T-Shirt is a fixture in most women’s wardrobes. In fact a lot of women practically live in them like a second skin. Still, the T-Shirt is ultimately seen as a casual, basic item for everyday wear. However, there are ways to wear a T-shirt that transform it from a boring basic into something that can be worn just about anywhere, whatever the dress code.
The first thing to do is buy some really good T-Shirts that flatter your figure. Many people don’t think that’s necessary, after all it’s just a T-Shirt. But there are T-Shirts and then there are T-Shirts, and if you want to look stylish and polished in one then you have to make some effort. There are some brands in particular that make excellent T-Shirts, with American Apparel being on the budget side of things and Isabel Marant creations being well worth it if they can fit into your budget. Once you’ve worn one of her gorgeous T-Shirts you’ll never want to wear any others. Still, if you’re happy to hunt around you should be able to find a T-Shirt that suits you in every way without spending a fortune.

To get the most out of your T-Shirt you have to think outside the box. Think of some outfits you’ve never imagined wearing a T-Shirt with and try them out with one. Tuck it into a glam high waisted skirt or wear it over a cute dress…just don’t stop experimenting. A nice T-shirt under a fitted blazer and jeans always looks fantasic but you can also try this under a business suit or skirt combo, instead of a stuffy shirt. One un way to wear a T-Shirt is under a strapless dress. It makes a party dress suitable for day time wear and makes it a bit cooler and more fashion forward. The basic idea is, never stop re-imagining your humble T-Shirt.
Finally, to get away with wearing a T-Shirt to places and with outfits you wouldn’t normally you have to have the rest of your outfit looking quite polished and classy. You can’t get away with anything ill-fitting or garish when trying to pull the T-Shirt look off, so stick to classic styles that never date for maximum success. Remember, it’s all about confidence. If you believe you look great and appropriate, so will other people. So be proud of your T-Shirt wearing ways.
